Travel destination - Menorca
The Duke de Richleau arrived with his troops to the island in 1756. Whilst dining there, he created a new sauce to go with the local food, basing it on a version of the island’s Alioli. Perhaps he wasn’t too keen on garlic? The result: Salsa Mahonesa was born, today Mayonnaise, loved the world over.
Sangria and loud parties? Maybe if that’s what you want. But Menorca is so much more.
The clear blue sea, the orange and olive groves, the beautiful.
